The movie is about one detective who tries so hard to prove that his friend doesn’t kill his wife. I love the movie that it ends in other ways, not as I expect. The main character believes in his friend so much that he protects him. He doesn’t tell the policemen where his friend was even he is the one who give him a ride. He is sent into jail for not telling the truth and when he is released because the police think that his friend is dead, he goes out to find the truth. As I watch the movie, I believe in the same way the main character believe but when it turns to be that his friend is the killer and he had helped him to hide away. Moreover, it leads to the second dead body. If he told the police the truth since the beginning, the second man wouldn’t commit suicide. I feel shock about this even the woman who I trust that she’s a nice woman. She is treated badly from her husband. She’s a poor girl. It turns to be that she’s liar and having an affair. She doesn’t care much about her dead husband because when her husband died for few days, she goes to see her affair. The twist end is work in the movie. The director really got me. Another interest thing is the main character. At first, I think that he’s a loser. He can’t even trick his own cat to eat the food. The policemen easily catch him. When he’s back home, he can’t find his cat. All of these make me think that he’s not a very clever and cool character. He’s not a hero type but as the movie plays, he starts to act cleverer. When he’s hire by one woman to find her husband. He can easily find him and once he found the man, he can get him out off the place in one day. He knows how to get the man out off the hospital and how’s to deal with the doctor. In the end, when he finds out the truth that his friend, Terry, is a murderer but the policeman thinks that he’ dead. So now, Terry has money and a woman and he’ll go away and live happily. The main character’s decision is very good. He kills Terry and because the police believe that Terry is dead, the woman can’t go to the police to ask for help. The more I watch the movie is the more I like the main character. On the other hand, Mr. Wade is seemed like a tuff man. He speaks out loud and yells at his wife. I think that he’s the one who treats his wife badly but he’s not. At first, I think that he has an affair with Terry’s wife but he’s not. In the end, he loses and commits suicide. Main character and Mr. Wade is starting with one character but ends in different character.

The movie is about the mother and son. The movie starts with the mother standing in the flower field. She dances and moving around that makes me confuse what’s going on but it looks cool.

The mother seems to worry so much about her son. When she works, he eyes always on her son. Although her boss is talking to her about her work, she keeps picking on her son, so that when her son is crashed, she runs to him immediately. Then we know that the son isn’t normal. He tries to be like his friends, as a bad boy but he doesn’t really that kind of person. He can’t hurt other people. When his friend tells him to hit people who crashed him, he couldn’t do it. However, when his friend starts he supports him. His friend is like his boss who takes care of him and leads him what to do.

One of the thing about the main boy is he will lose his mind if anyone calls him “retard”. The movie repeats this over and over. When he’s in the police station and a man calls him retard. He goes to punch the man in the face. Also, when he’s in jail, one of prisoner trick another prisoner to call the man retard, he punch the man who calls. This makes audience understand that he will automatically hurt the person who calls him retard. That’s why he kills the girl.

Another thing is about delete memory. The audience knows that the mother is secretly working in acupuncture. When the wife of ministry comes to visits and buys her ginseng, she asks if the mother still doing illegally acupuncture. We know that she is not allowed to do acupuncture. When her son is in the jail and remembers that she tried to kill him when he’s a little, she can’t take it. She says she will give him acupuncture to make him forget but she can’t it. She is dragged out of the room. Therefore, in the end of the movie, the son finds out that his mother has been in the fireplace where the homeless person died. He knows she kills that man. She immediately runs away. She gets on the bus and sits alone while other people are singing and dancing. She gets one pin out and strap it on her leg then she starts to act weird. However, audience understand that she delete her memory. I love that the director makes audience understand by saying nothing. It’s cool that we can figure it out, not some character tells us what has happened.

In my opinion, the main actress is a very good actress. I feel for her a lot even sometimes her behavior is stupid. When she comes to a part of killing the man. It is terrible but I get her feeling about doing this. Her son is everything for her. She seems to be a reasonable person all the way through but when she realizes that her son is the murderer, she forgets everything. She’d do everything to save him and she couldn’t stand the truth that her son knows she’s the killer.

The movie is divides into two main parts. The first part is in country and another is in the city. There are many long shots in the movie. For example, on the interview of a man, it is a long shot and conversation but there is barely cut away. We don’t see the interviewer face until there are almost finish. We only see the man’s face. Even it’s a long shot, there is some interesting thing that keep people watching, which is the conversation. The interviewer asks how does he describe himself and he answers that he’s a funny guy with his emotionless face. Actually, he hardly changes his mood on his face. This is kind of funny and interesting but I do not laugh out that loud coz the actor is so natural like this is he. I believe in every word he says. I think he really believes that he is a funny man. In the city, the director shows the opposite side of character. This time he shows us the interviewer and barely shows us the man. However, we knows who he is and why he’s here because the conversation is almost the same as the country.

Another thing that I think the movie trying to tell is the differences between the country and city. One of good example is the dentist and the monk. In the countryside, there are in a room with window open. We can see the view from outside. The dentist and monk talk about their dreams. The monk says he wanted to be a DJ and the dentist says he wanted to be a singer and then he starts to sing. It is kind of funny and lovely in the same time. When the monk tells him to be aware and stop singing, the dentist stops just for a while before he continues singing. After that, the dentist has a concert. When he finishes and gets back to hospital, he meets the monk. The monk says he wanted to be there but because he’s a monk. He can’t make it. The dentist tells him about his dead brother. They share their dreams and secrets. Audience can notice how close both characters are. They are now friends not just doctor and patient. On the other side, the same dentist and the monk is in the white room with high technology of equipment. The dentist has his own assistant. They both barely talk to each other. Once the dentist cover the monk’s face with white sheet, the monk takes it off. The dentist places it back and the monk takes it off again then the monk says he prefers to take it off. The dentist nods. That’s it. They do not talk much. They are not telling their dream, secret or even everyday conversation. This is a comparison between the country and the city. Even though there is not a high technology in the country. The dentist works alone with no assistant. People in country are more close to each other.

The movie is about a girl who is married a rich man as his fourth wife. The movie starts with she sits still and talks to her mother about getting marry. She informs that woman doesn’t have a choice. She walks to her husband’s house herself with simple cloth. She doesn’t look different much from the maid. She talks to the old man nicely but when the maid talks to her badly, she did it back as well. She tells the maid to carry the bag for her while she rejects when the old man asks to carry her bag. This shows her characteristic that she’s kind of fighting woman. She’s not going to cry and wait for someone to help her but she’ll protect herself.

At first, she feels weird with foot massage. The old lady tells her that she’ll get used to it and soon she will like it, which she does. All wife fights for being foot massage and get power about order the food. On the first night of the fourth wife, the third wife asks the husband to go and visit her. He goes. On the morning, the fourth wife has to go respect other wives. The first wife is an old lady. She doesn’t talk much. The second wife is nice to her. She talks a lot and gives her a warm welcome. She informs the fourth wife that the third wife doesn’t really get sick because she’s always be like that, asking the husband to visit her in the middle of the night. When she’s about to go visit the third wife, both her husband and the third wife don’t wake up yet. The old man tells her to wait. These kinds of things show us about how women be treated in China. They have no power but to follow her husband. The man can have many wives if he can effort them and creates rules that women have to follow. In the morning, wives have to stand on the front door to be chosen who is the husband going to spend the night with. The husband chooses them and they can’t do or say anything about it. Moreover, once the third wife is caught that she has an affair with the doctor. She’s killed. This shows that the husband ha s power to do anything he wants with his wives. He kills her and no one would blame or say anything about it. Woman doesn’t have the right as man.

Another thing about this movie is betrayed. The maid of the fourth wife is cursing her boss with the doll. The second wife, who acts like she’s nice with the fourth wife since the beginning, is lie to the fourth wife. She is the one who hates her the most and writes her name of the cursed doll. The third wife has an affair with the doctor and the fourth wife lies that she’s pregnant. All girls try their best the interest from the husband.

The movie is about a man who travels back in time. The main character is Hector. The story is taken in just one day but because he travels back in time, it’ longer than that for him. It starts with Hector drive back to his house. He buys his wife an incomplete table and he lets her make the table instead of making it himself. When they are at backyard, his wife making table and Hector uses binocular to look into the jungle and he sees a naked girl. He decides not to tell his wife and goes after her. He’s strapped in his arm and runs away. Personally, Hector 1 isn’t a good character or hero. When he’s back home, he goes to bed while his wife doing housework. When she’s making a table in the yard, he’s sitting and not helping her. Making wooden table is kind of man’s job but he doesn’t even give her a hand. When she finishes, he just asks if the table will get through the door. He doesn’t help her carry it up into the bedroom. Still, he sits at the same place, looking out in the jungle. Once he sees a naked girl, he’s not an honest man to tell this to his wife. He hides it from her and walks into the jungle to find the naked girl. Strapping is like his punishment for doing this. When he’s in the building, he can’t help himself but asks for the science’s help. He’s tricked into the tank and travel back in time.

When hector gets out off the tank, he becomes Hector2. This time, Hector is a little smarter. He starts to do something. He needs to make sure that Hector1 in his house will go in the tank. When he drives out and finds the naked girl on her bicycle. He’s surprised. He gets crash and his car falls into the jungle. He’s got a wound on his head so he uses bandage on his arm to cover his face. This is the moment he realize that he’s the man with the bandage. At this point, he knows that he has to do something to make sure that Hector1 will do exacted thing he did. He’s not really does it well. The bicycle girl isn’t really listened to him and he almost fails when she tries to run away. Luckily, he gets her. However, the girl wakes up and gets into his house. He afraid that she’ll call the police so he chases her and accidently kill her but he thinks that she’s his wife. So Hector2 is starting to do something but he’s not that good and clever.

Hector3 is the smartest. We now realize that Hector3 control everything even the scientist. He’s the first person who gets out the tank and tells scientist to do as he says. He knows what to do and he can do it confidently and no mistake. He knows there is a red trunk and he has to crash Hector2 into the jungle. He knows how to save his wife. He tricks himself that the bicycle girl is his wife. From a man who doesn’t even look at the girl taking off her cloth becomes a killer. Therefore, Hector slowly changes his characteristic.

Tampopo is a single mother whose job is a cook of Ramen. One day Goro comes to her shop and saves her from bad customers. Tampopo realizes that her noodle isn’t that good so she asked for Goro’s advice. He tells her about how to treat customer nicely (like remember the order and smile at customers). He tells her that the taste of noodle and soup isn’t good enough and leads her to the professional of making soup. The professional soup maker is just a homeless man but he makes amazing soup. One day, Tampopo, Goro and a young man saves an old rich man once he’s about to lose his breathe from eating noodle too fast. He wants to returns her by sending his best cook to help her about making great noodle. Everything seems to look good and Tampopo tries her best to cook great noodle. One day the man who used to fight with Goro comes to Goro. They fight and end up with being friends.  The man helps Tampopo about decorating her shop into a white nice noodle shop. The business goes better. Many customers come to have food at Tampopo’s shop. However, everyone separate to his ways.

While the story of Tampopo is telling, there are several short stories shows. All of them is about food.  There is one story of a woman teaching women how to eat spaghetti with no sound. On the opposite table, there is a foreigner who is eating spaghetti with sound. In the end, women try their best to make the loudest sound they can while they are eating. It’s not about how to eat nicely and looks good. Food is food. You just eat and enjoy with it.

Another good short story is about one young man. He comes in the luxury restaurant with his bosses. He is treated badly like smacking head. When he’s about to sit, his boos grasps his shirt, not to let him sit. He has to wait until all bosses sit then he can sit. When they are ordering the food. Young man must wait until all boss finishes. However, even bosses are higher level than the young boy. They don’t know much about menu and food. They copy each other and order the exact food like the first one order. When it comes to the young man, he can ask the waiter clearly about food. He knows how to match food with drink. He may not have as high level on working as other men but he does have higher level at food.
